Ice balls on form on Lake Michigan in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, United States. These snow/ice balls are essentially made by themselves, growing as they bob in the water. The motion of the water and the temperature being just below the freezing point make it possible for the snow to take this shape.
